FAQs

What is your pricing for a maternity photo session?

The maternity photo session fee of $225 includes an approximately hour long session either at my dedicated studio in Freshwater, on Sydney's Northern Beaches or at a local beach or park. The session fee covers the photographer's time and talent, full access to my maternity wardrobe as well as one 8x12" print and two 5x7" prints. Additional prints start from $40 for a 5x7" print and wall art, albums and digital packages are also available. Full pricing is available for inspection on my website to allow for complete pricing transparency. There is no additional fee for including family members including children and partners (even the family dog) and no additional fee for outfit changes. A discounted session fee is offered to those clients wanting to capture both maternity and newborn images and both sessions may be booked for $395.

When will I receive the edited photos from my maternity session?

I endeavour to provide you will your session proofs within two weeks of the session. If you have signed a model release I will happily release a "sneak peak" to Facebook and/or Instagram as quickly as a day or two after the session. Once prints have been ordered, you can expect to receive these within about 10-14 working days. Print and product orders are placed with my print lab every week or 10 days. If you have opted for a combined maternity/newborn package, many clients opt to delay the selection of their maternity images until after the newborn session is held which is completely ok.

Can you recommend any poses or ideas for my maternity photoshoot?

It's completely normal to feel a bit nervous or self-conscious during a photoshoot, especially when pregnant. My aim is to create a relaxed and supportive environment, guiding you through poses and making you feel at ease - my job is to help you look and feel your best. I have a repertoire of poses that I have developed over my 12 years of photographing maternity sessions, however, you are most welcome to share any specific poses or Pinterest boards that inspire you and we will work together to achieve your vision.

When are maternity sessions best scheduled?

Maternity portrait sessions are ideally held between 32-36 weeks gestation when the bump is beautifully formed but before too much discomfort or tiredness has set in. This will allow for a greater range of poses and reduce the risk of missing your session due to an early arrival! Ideally, your session will be booked as early as possible after your 12-week scan as I can be booked up for some months in advance. I only accept as many bookings as I can reasonably shoot, edit and return to my clients in my targeted time frame of two weeks. I currently accept session bookings 7 days a week. For outdoor location sessions I strongly recommend considering booking early morning or late afternoon shoots to ensure optimum lighting conditions as the light at this time is soft and flattering. The ideal time is approximately an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset. Studio sessions may be held at any time of day.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of my outdoor maternity photoshoot?

If the weather forecast predicts unfavourable conditions such as rain or strong winds on the day of your outdoor maternity photoshoot, I will endeavour to reschedule the session for a day with a better weather forecast. Alternatively, you may choose to move the session to the studio if you prefer.
