This is such a special and momentous milestone, and our cake smash sessions combine both the fun and mess of giving a one-year old a cake, but also some beautiful birthday portraits and a fun bubble to end off the session and clean up.

I am a photographer who specialises in Newborn, Maternity and Family Photography. I offer sessions to capture your beautiful new baby in those first few precious weeks. As your baby and family grows I love to capture the journey for you. Gorgeous chubby baby sitter sessions, fun cake smash and splash sessions to celebrate a first birthday and even sunrise and sunset shoots I love capturing precious moments for you, your children, your family in your life. My style is natural, simple and beautiful.

I originally studied and became a Clinical Psychologist and I loved it. But photography has been a passion and a hobby since high school. After my son was born my love for photography steadily grew. I switched to digital photography and my passion exploded. With Babies #2 and #3 I learnt more about photography. I took courses, webinars, workshops and I took A LOT of photos of my kids. Friends and family kept telling me to do something with my photography. I did some shoots for friends. I learnt more. And I fell more and more in love with what this medium can capture and express.

Now I am an award winning newborn and family photographer and I am passionate about capturing special moments for you to cherish as well.

FAQs

Is the cake and decorations included in the cake smash session

Yes! I work with a fantastic licensed baker and cake decorator who makes all the cakes. Cakes can be designed in a range of colours to suit your colour theme. Decorations are also included - either balloons and bunting or a more floral botanical style of decorations.

Do you have outfits my baby can wear?

Yes. I have a range of beautiful outfits available for your little one to wear for the cake smash. You are also welcome to bring your own outfit.

How long does a session take?

Cake Smash sessions are nice and quick so as not to exhaust or overwhelm your baby. At this age, babies have very limited stamina to be "on set" having their photos taken. We make sure there is time for them to warm up and be comfortable before we begin and then move quickly and calmly through the session at your babies pace.

What if my baby doesn't like the cake?

Don't worry. Many babies find cake smash sessions a little confusing, and need a little encouragement from mum or myself to touch and smash the cake. We end the session with a fun bubble bath and even if we didn't get too many smiles during the cake smash, all babies grin and giggle when in a bath of bubbles!
