Always Belle Photography is a paediatric nurse-led newborn photography studio in Eaglemont, Melbourne. The photography team includes four paediatric nurses, and every photographer is trained in newborn safety, baby handling and recognising baby cues.

Sessions are baby-led and unhurried, with a focus on newborn safety and settling rather than working to a clock. Parents, siblings and grandparents are all welcome in the photographs at no extra cost, and images are viewed the same day, straight after the session.

Why should I choose a newborn photographer who is a Paediatric Nurse?

This is our biggest difference. Our photography team includes four paediatric nurses, and every photographer is trained in newborn safety, baby handling and reading baby cues. What that means in practice is that we understand your baby's physiology, breathing and comfort clinically, not just visually. We don't simply pose babies. We use settling techniques that come from years of working with newborns, so your baby stays safe, warm and secure the whole way through. For most mums, that's the bit that lets them actually relax. You've just had a baby, you're handing them to someone you've never met, and knowing that person has spent years caring for newborns changes how that feels.

Are you fully vaccinated and safety certified?

Absolutely. As medical professionals, safety is our non-negotiable priority. Our team is fully up-to-date with all vaccinations, including Whooping Cough (Pertussis), Flu, and COVID-19. We also hold current Working With Children Checks (WWCC) and senior first-aid certifications. We maintain a clinic-standard hygiene protocol in our Eaglemont studio to protect your little one.

When is the best time to book my newborn session?

We recommend booking while you are still pregnant, typically after your 20-week scan. Since we prioritise safety and take our time with every baby, we limit the number of sessions we accept each month. Booking early guarantees your spot on our calendar, even if your baby arrives early or late! If your baby is already here, please contact us—we occasionally have last-minute openings.

Do your packages include family and sibling photos?

Yes! We believe your first family photo is just as important as the solo baby portraits. We love involving proud older brothers and sisters (and tired parents!) in the session. Our goal is to capture the connection and love between you all, not just the baby sleeping in a basket. We guide you gently so you look and feel natural in front of the camera.

What is your photography style—do you use lots of props?

Our style is "baby-led," natural, and timeless. We prefer to strip back the clutter and heavy props to focus on the perfection of your baby—their tiny eyelashes, flaky skin, and natural curls. We use soft, neutral textures and gentle posing that is comfortable for the baby. This ensures your photos won't look "dated" in 10 years; they will remain classic, beautiful heirlooms.
